Professor Khensur Rinpoche Ngawang Thekchok was appointed the head of Sera Mey University, India, where he served in this position for more than 10 years. He taught and lived at Sera Mey University until he passed away on 9th April 2013.

H.E Khensur Rinpoche was born in 1928 in Eastern Tibet and became a monk by his own wish at the age of 11 years old, entering Sera Mey University at 17. He has attained the Highest Degree of Studies.

In the past 40 years, other than practising in retreat a few times, Rinpoche has also worked continuously and selflessly for the education at Sera Mey University. On a typical day, Rinpoche would teach up to 6 sessions, totaling 16 hours, to different groups of students.

His passing away on 9th April 2013 is an immeasurable loss.
